The Eagles are prepared to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon without quarterback Jalen Hurts.
During his Friday press conference, head coach Nick Sirianni was noncommital on Hurts’ availability, stating that it was going to be hard for the star quarterback to clear the concussion protocol.
Nick Sirianni says Jalen Hurts remains in concussion protocol and “It’s going to be tough for him to make it this week.”

On Monday, Sirianni offered no update on Hurts’s status for Week 17 against Dallas, stating that Hurts is in the concussion protocol.
On Thursday, just three days before hosting the Cowboys in a critcial NFC East contest, Sirianni sounded like a head coach who’ll be playing with the backup quarterback for the second week in a row.

Will see how much, if anything, he can do at practice, but becoming more difficult to see him being ready for Sunday’s game vs. the Cowboys. pic.twitter.com/n2SrwIa08M

Hurts was 1-4 passing for 11 yards and had three carries for 41 yards before exiting for the blue medical tent.
In his first real game action this season, backup quarterback and former Steelers first-round pick Kenny Pickett was 14-24 for 143 yards (6.0 avg), one touchdown, and one interception with a 72.0 rating. His penchant for not pushing the football downfield was evident by his six yards per completion.
Philadelphia signed former backup quarterback Ian Book to the practice squad on Thursday, providing more relief at the position in case Hurts is out.
