Former North Carolina defensive lineman Jalen Dalton is getting a shot to make an NFL roster again.
On Thursday, Dalton was one of two players claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers, joining Tiyon Evans as the waiver claims by the franchise here in June. As OTA’s and mandatory camps begin, Dalton is now joining the Panthers and has a shot to make the roster if he performs well in training camp and the preseason.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Dalton is a Clemmons, North Carolina native that spent the first part of his career in camp with the Chicago Bears. From there he also spent time with the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons. He was waived by the Falcons on Wednesday.
Dalton played in seven games last season and had 13 total tackles.
His career hasn’t taken off due to injuries so far in the NFL but with another shot,he’s hoping to make the most of it.
