On Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the NFL Scouting Combine, Georgia star DT Jalen Carter was slated to speak to the media from Podium 1. However, breaking news from Georgia changed the dynamic.
Carter, often projected as the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2023 NFL draft, had an arrest warrant issued in relation to a fatal traffic accident in January that killed a teammate and a University of Georgia staffer. Reports indicate excessive speed and alcohol were involved in the crash, which has been characterized as a street racing incident.

Carter or his representation has yet to state anything about the incident. He is no longer believed to be in Indianapolis for the combine workouts and team interviews.
It’s too early to speculate about how the arrest warrant will impact Carter’ss draft stock, or how the Detroit Lions might view him as a prospect now.
