Jakobi Meyers’ father has been waiting impatiently. Finally, he got it. His son, the New England Patriots receiver, scored a receiving touchdown. Meyers had scored a pair of passing touchdowns, but had never gotten into the end zone himself for a score.

In the fourth quarter of the team’s 45-7 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Meyers scored a 11-yard receiving touchdown, which ended his drought. He went 134 catches before recording his first touchdown, the most by any NFL reciver.

“I haven’t looked at my phone yet. I’m waiting,” Meyers said after the game. “That’s a conversation I’ve got to have in person. I know he’s going to be excited. It’s going to be a special moment right there when I go out there and see him. So I can’t wait to get out there and talk to him.”

That’s a pretty darn sweet moment. It’s well deserved. And it’s long overdue.
