It hasn’t been easy keeping track of all the changes happening to Colorado’s roster. A player who committed earlier in the year may not be as easily recognized as some of the newer commits to the team. This has allowed some players to fly under the radar.
The Buffaloes will likely play a lot of different players this year as they transition to a new system under new head coach Deion Sanders. This will allow more Buffs to have the opportunity to make an impact on a week-to-week basis as opposing coaches scheme for someone else or a different plan of attack.
I asked Jake Schwanitz of DNVR Buffs who we should look out for as dark horse impact players:
Running backs Dylan Edwards and Kavosiey Smoke could play a huge role this season. Edwards’ speed will give him the opportunity to make some game-changing plays. Smoke was an efficient back at Kentucky and should factor in at least in a spell role to Alton McCaskill if not as running back 1B. Former Southern Utah safety Rodrick Ward was a highly productive player with awesome ball production, I could see him carving out a role as a safety or nickel.
