Michigan football had three players selected in the first two rounds of the 2023 NFL draft.
While most experts believed the Wolverines would have two draftees during the first three rounds, the maize and blue ended up having four players selected.
With the 99th pick in the draft, the San Francisco 49ers took Michigan kicker Jake Moody.
The 49ers had kicking struggles this past year and hope Moody will shore up that area and the team can lean on him for years to come. The Wolverines were able to trust Moody with some incredibly tough kicks and he usually always came through. Moody had some game-winning kicks during his career like the one against Illinois for Michigan to stay unbeaten this past season.

Moody was 29-for-35 kicking field goals in 2022, and was 60-for-60 kicking extra points. The 2021 Lou Groza Award winner kicked for 92% of his field goals during his award-winning season in 2021.
Moody is the first kicker to be selected in the first three rounds since 2016.
