Jahmir Johnson enters transfer portal

Vols’ lineman Jahmir Johnson enters NCAA transfer portal.

University of Tennessee offensive lineman Jahmir Johnson has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

He entered the portal Wednesday after Volunteers’ head coach Jeremy Pruitt was fired on Monday as the UT football program remains under investigation for alleged recruiting violations that occurred under his watch.

He leaves Rocky Top after three seasons.

Johnson came to UT in 2018 and started 11 games that year after transferring from the junior college ranks where he played for Arizona Western.

He appeared in 24 games for the Big Orange and made 17 career starts for the Vols.

While playing for the Vols, Johnson saw time at both offensive guard and offensive tackle.

He appeared in seven games for the Vols in 2020 as the team went 3-7, while playing a Southeastern Conference-only schedule. Johnson started five games.

He was injured in 2019 and appeared in six games on the offensive front.
