Jaguars will be without RB James Robinson in Week 17

Colts won’t see James Robinson in Week 17.

The Jacksonville Jaguars haven’t had much to root for this season, outside of obtaining the No. 1 overall pick and the likely quarterback of the future, but running back James Robinson has been a revelation.

Robinson has enjoyed an incredible season after stepping in for Leonard Fournette, who was traded just before the season. That said, an ankle injury will keep Robinson out of the regular-season finale against the Indianapolis Colts.

This is significant for the Colts because they need to grab a win this week. It may seem in the bag given they are 15-point favorites to open the week but nothing is guaranteed. Just look back at Week 1.

But Robinson missing this game is a huge advantage for the Colts. He’s the focal point of their offense and would be one of the main reasons the Jaguars could stay competitive in this game.

In 14 games the undrafted rookie took 240 carries for 1,070 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns while adding 49 receptions for 344 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He’s arguably been the best rookie running back in 2020.

The Colts have to win—and some—to make it into the playoffs. Their path to that just got a bit easier.
