Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson returns to Philadelphia to face the Eagles for a second time since his Jan. 2021 firing from the team and hiring by Jacksonville one year later.

The Jaguars lost to the Eagles, 29-21, when the teams last met, in Philadelphia in Oct. 2022.

Pederson, who led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl victory in the 2017-18 season, was replaced by current Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni. Sirianni revealed this week that Pederson assisted him during the transition, which Pederson expounded upon Wednesday.

“I mean, look, it’s a tough business and I can appreciate a new head coach going in there and what to expect. Just to be a resource to be somebody there that’s been it,” Pederson explained.

“I did it for five years and I was an assistant coach there for a long time and really just to, if you had any questions, to just ask me. It’s just a respect thing. It’s hard enough to be a head coach in this league and any advice I could give a new time or a first-time head coach, I was going to do it.”

Jacksonville vs. Philadelphia will kick off at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday, at Lincoln Financial Field.
