Jaguars vs. Colts: Jacksonville elevates two from practice squad

The Jaguars promoted linebacker Tanner Muse and safety Matthew Jackson to their active roster from the practice squad via standard elevation ahead of their Week 5 home matchup with the Colts, the club announced Saturday.

Muse will be active for the second week in a row, after Jacksonville placed starting linebacker Foyesade Oluokun on its injured reserve on Sept. 28.

A third-round pick by Las Vegas in the 2020 NFL draft, Muse joined the Jaguars this offseason and was relegated to Jacksonville’s practice squad in August following preseason roster cuts. He has recorded 22 tackles and one defended pass over 34 career games.

Jackson joined Jacksonville’s practice squad after preseason roster cuts, too, although it followed his release by Tennessee, one of the Jaguars’ AFC South rivals.

An undrafted free agent in 2023, Jackson made the Titans’ 53-player roster as a rookie and appeared in 10 games, making six total tackles including five on special teams.

Week 5 will mark Jackson’s debut with the Jaguars.
