Jaguars rule out Travon Walker, 2 others vs. Jets

The Jaguars ruled out three and listed five players as questionable vs. the Jets.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are playing it safe with No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker, who’s recovering from a high ankle sprain.

While Walker was questionable last week against the Dallas Cowboys, the Jaguars ruled him out for a Thursday Night Football matchup against the New York Jets.

Cam Robinson is the least surprising designation on the list, as Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said earlier this week that the offensive tackle’s season may be over due to a meniscus injury.

Guard Brandon Scherff, safety Andrew Wingard, and linebacker Chad Muma were all questionable last week, but were active against the Cowboys. Earlier this week, Pederson said that Jawaan Taylor is “fine” and should be able to play against the Jets.

The Jets waited until later on Wednesday to announce that four players are out and three players — including star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams — are questionable.

The news that quarterback Mike White is out was broken by Jets coach Robert Saleh on Tuesday, but the addition of running back Zonovan Knight is noteworthy. Michael Carter is currently at the top of the Jets’ depth chart at the running back position with former Jaguars back James Robinson struggling to get many touches as of late.
