Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence: ‘You can’t deny that we are a really good team’

Trevor Lawrence says the Jaguars’ abilities are pretty obvious at this point.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are preaching a “So what? Now what?” philosophy this season, centered around keeping one foot in front of the other and not getting too high on wins. But Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence says the team’s abilities are pretty clear after back-to-back blowout wins.

“Obviously, the way we have played, you can’t deny that we are a really good team,” Lawrence said Sunday after a win against the Los Angeles Chargers. “But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what they say about us; we know who we are. Our only goal Sunday is to win the game, and the way people think about us, it doesn’t matter.

“Every week we are going to prepare the same way. We’re going to be ready to play. We have a bunch of competitors, so it’s been a lot of fun.”

After shooting themselves in the foot often in a 28-22 season opening loss against the Washington Commanders, the Jaguars have been an ultra efficient buzzsaw in their 24-0 and 38-10 wins against the Indianapolis Colts and the Chargers, respectively.

Jacksonville is the only team in the AFC South with a winning record through the first three weeks. The Jaguars are also top 10 in the NFL in both points scored and points allowed.
