The Philadelphia Eagles could be short at cornerback after Craig James suffered a significant injury on Sunday, and if they do seek out help for the secondary, a familiar name can no longer come back to the fold.
Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Jacksonville Jaguars have promoted cornerback Sidney Jones from the practice squad to the active roster.
The #Jaguars are promoting CB Sidney Jones IV to their active roster after DB Jarrod Wilson sustained a hamstring injury in yesterday’s win over the Colts, per source. Former #Eagles 2nd rounder is on the 53.

Jones, the team’s 2017 second-round draft pick, has dealt with injuries and inconsistent play after tearing his Achilles prior to the draft.
Jones missed most of his rookie season recovering from the injury and never developed into the player the Eagles assumed they drafted. In Jacksonville, Jones will get the opportunity to play early and often, thus improving his confidence.
