Jaguars open as touchdown underdogs vs. Chargers in Week 3

Oddsmakers apparently aren’t putting a ton of stock in the Jaguars’ dominant victory over the Colts.

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ dominant victory against the Indianapolis Colts doesn’t have oddsmakers convinced that the momentum will carry into Week 3.

The Los Angeles Chargers opened as a 7.5-point favorite for a Sunday matchup against the Jaguars on Tipico Sportsbook.

That line has the potential to move significantly based on the health of Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, who suffered a rib cartilage fracture during a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday. Still, it appears unlikely that Herbert will miss the Week 3 matchup against Jacksonville.

The Jaguars have played five road games against the Chargers in franchise history and lost all five. Four of those were while the Chargers were based in San Diego and the last — which happened in October 2020 — was a 39-29 loss for the Jaguars at SoFi Stadium.

Los Angeles opened its 2022 slate with a 24-19 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1 followed by a 27-24 loss to the Chiefs last week. Herbert has 613 passing yards, six touchdowns, and only one interception through two games.
