The Jacksonville Jaguars confirmed this week what was a long-running rumor about the Detroit Lions’ date on the 2020 NFL schedule. In a communique with season-ticket holders, the Jaguars management revealed the two home foes that were originally scheduled to play in London instead of Jacksonville.
One of those is indeed the Lions. As many speculated, the Lions were indeed poised to play across the pond in 2020 as one of the Jaguars opponents, along with the Cleveland Browns. Detroit now travels to Jacksonville in Week 6 to play the Jaguars. The Browns game was moved to Week 12; the Jaguars were set to play these two games in London on consecutive weekends.
All international games were canceled and forced back to the United States due to the coronavirus pandemic earlier this spring. The Lions last played in England in 2015.
