The brunt of the offseason is in the books and training camp is underway. Join us for a player-by-player review of the Jaguars roster ahead of the 2023 season.
Two years into his NFL career, Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Luke Farrell has caught just 11 passes.
While the former fifth-round pick has spent his career on the Jaguars’ active roster, he’s been buried on the depth chart behind other tight ends. But after both Dan Arnold and Chris Manhertz left the Jaguars in free agency during the offseason, 2023 may finally be Farrell’s chance to shine.
In the first unofficial depth chart of the year, Farrell is No. 2 at tight end behind Evan Engram.
Expect Farrell to see significant action in 2023 and finally get more than just a handful of targets.
Contract (2023): $940,000 base salary, $89,505 prorated signing bonus, $1,029,505 cap hit.
Acquired: The Jaguars picked Farrell with the No. 145 overall selection in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft.
- 70.6 (2022)
- 48.0 (2021)
Highlight:
What a great development in blocking by the Jaguars offensive line.

Quote: “It’s a good mix of guys and we’re excited with our guys. We like where Luke Farrell is, the mix of him and Evan [Engram].” – Jaguars coach Doug Pederson
