The Jacksonville Jaguars only have one game left but that hasn’t stopped them from working the waiver wire. The team added some help for their offensive line Monday by picking up former Pittsburgh Steelers guard Derwin Gray.

Gray will start his Jags career on the team’s Exempt/Commissioner Permission list until he’s able to pass the league’s COVID-19 testing and screening protocols. With the Jags playing the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, there will be roughly a five-day window for him to be cleared.

Gray was a seventh-round pick (No. 219 overall) for the Steelers last year. He spent his rookie season on their practice squad. He also spent the early part of this season on practice squad again, before being promoted to the active roster on Sept. 18. Since, he’s participated in five games.

Before entering the league, Gray played collegiately at Maryland where he participated in 35 games, 25 of which were starts. He also spent some time at left tackle while there.
