Jags QB Mike Glennon to start in 2020 season finale vs. Colts

The Jags are rolling with Mike Glennon one last time as they look to conclude their 2020 season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced their starting quarterback for their season finale against the Indianapolis Colts — and it will once again be veteran Mike Glennon.

“We’re just going to keep it the same with Mike [Glennon] and Gardner [Minshew II] will be ready,” Marrone said to the media Wednesday.

Glennon got the nod last week against his former team in the Chicago Bears. As a whole, the Jags’ offense and defense were able to keep the game close in the first half (the `score was 13-10), but the wheels fell off for both units after that and the result was a 41-17 blowout.

Glennon ultimately finished the game 24-of-37 for 211 yards, two picks, and two touchdowns. Of course, it was the second half of his performance that was mostly the issue as the Jags didn’t score until late in the fourth when Glennon connected with Laviska Shenault Jr. for a touchdown pass.

Glennon started Weeks 12-14 for the Jags but was benched in favor of Gardner Minshew II Week 15. Minshew wasn’t able to provide much of a spark just as Glennon hasn’t, so maybe Marrone’s decision came down to wanting stability as the Jags conclude their season.
