The Jacksonville Jaguars entered the week with a competition at the quarterback position and it appears a winner has been declared. Veteran Mike Glennon will be the one to take the field as the team’s QB1 against the Chicago Bears — a team he used played for.

The Jags’ decision comes after Gardner Minshew II started in their last game against the Baltimore Ravens. The team was unable to get going both on offense and defense, which reflected in the final score (40-14).
Minshew’s stat line didn’t necessarily look bad on paper when looking at his completion rate 22-of-29 (75.9%), but there wasn’t much explosiveness to the offense as he finished with 226 passing yards and two second-half touchdowns. He also had a fumble in the game, which was caused by former Jags’ defensive end Yannick Ngakoue.
Sunday’s game will mark Glennon’s fourth start as a Jag. He started in the three games before Week 15’s game but was benched Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans. He’ll enter this week with a 61% (61-of-100) completion rate on the season for 600 yards, three touchdowns, and three picks.
