The Jacksonville Jaguars had 11 of the 12 practice squad players they placed on their Reserve/ COVID-19 list Saturday return to the facility Thursday. That decision came after a player from the practice squad tested positive for COVID-19, causing the team to move remote operations for the day.
The list of players who were able to return is as follows:
RB Nathan Cottrell
TE Ben Ellefson
LB Nate Evans
LB Joe Giles-Harris
WR Terry Godwin
WR Josh Hammond
OL Jared Hilbers
S Doug Middleton
CB Josh Nurse
OL Austen Pleasants
WR Trey Quinn
The lone practice squad player who didn’t return was offensive lineman K.C. McDermott. Veteran defensive end Josh Mauro, who was on the commissioner’s exempt list, was also placed on the Reserve/ COVID-19 list Saturday. However, the team released him late Thursday afternoon.
With the practice squad players being grouped together, the Jags placed the 12 aforementioned players on their Reserve/ COVID-19 list after using contact tracing devices. However, with them avoiding close contact with those on the active roster, the Jags were able to have their Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions as scheduled.
