With the NFL season winding down, it seems the Jacksonville Jaguars are full steam ahead with its new coaching search. With several big names confirming to have interviews we thought we would pass along a few.
NFL networks Ian Rapoport has reported that former Colts and Lions HC Jim Caldwell has been garnering some interest. As well as Former Eagles HC Doug Pederson.
Adam Schefter has reported that former Buccaneers DC Todd Bowles is in play. With Jacksonville having asked the Bucs for permission to interview him.
They have also requested to interview current Cowboys DC Dan Quinn. Both of whom had head coaching gig’s before as well.
There are a few more various reports floating around that include Bucs OC Byron Leftwich, Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett, and Colts DC Matt Eberflus. All of which have had interviews requested.
With such a long list of candidates it seems like Jacksonville plans to takes its time and make sure it gets the right man for the job. After the Urban Meyer disaster I don’t blame them.
For Trevor Lawrence’s sake I hope they go with a coach who has a history of developing QB’s. Personally I like Jim Caldwell for the job. A lot of Jags fan’s are pulling for Leftwich. Understandable due to his ties to Jacksonville. But how much of his recent success is due to his coaching ability? And how much is thanks to Tom Brady?
In the end, it will be interesting to see who Khan and the Jags decide to go with.
Jaguars also have requested permission to talk to Bucs’ DC Todd Bowles, per source. So Jacksonville is interested in both Bucs’ coordinators. https://t.co/0X0teLCV9A
