The Jacksonville Jaguars will be getting one of their cornerbacks back from Reserve/COVID-19 as the team announced that Luq Barcoo was activated on Thursday. This news comes after Barcoo was placed on the list six days ago alongside cornerback CJ Henderson.
Barcoo, 23, is entering his second-year with the Jags after going undrafted out of San Diego State last season. He participated in three games and started in one for them, which came against the Cleveland Browns. He ultimately finished his rookie season with 10 combined tackles, seven of which were solo.
Barcoo will compete within a crowded cornerback group that has notables like Henderson, Shaquill Griffin, Tyson Campbell, Sidney Jones IV, and Tre Herndon on it. Despite his undrafted status, Barcoo made the Jags’ initial 53-man roster last season after flashing in training camp, but this year it may be a bit harder to do. Still, it’s good to see him return to the field and compete as he’ll try to defy the odds once again.
