Jags begin offseason workout program alongside 5 others

The Jags got back to work Monday by kicking off their offseason workout program.

On Monday morning, the Jacksonville Jaguars started their journey to getting on the right track under new head coach Doug Pederson. Alongside the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they kicked off their offseason workout programs.

With the Jags and the other aforementioned teams having new head coaches, they are allowed to start their offseason program earlier than others. The current group of teams to start their programs mark the second wave of organizations to do so, as the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, New York Giants, and New Orleans Saints began their workouts last week.

Phase 1 of the Jags’ offseason program will take place during the first two weeks of the process. According to a memo sent by the NFL, each team will be limited to “meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only” during this phase.

The Jags’ voluntary minicamp will start on April 26 and will last until April 28. They will then take a break until May 23, which is when organized team activity workouts begin. They will follow up with a session the day after, then on May 26, May 31-June 1, June 3, and June 6-9.

Mandatory minicamp, which takes place on June 13-15, will conclude the offseason workout program. However, if the Jags wanted, they could add a rookie minicamp into their program after the draft. That could begin as soon as May 16 if the Jags conducted one, but information on their plans will be available later.
