Jaguars coach Urban Meyer spoke about building a running back room around James Robinson last week and is delivering on that promise early in the free agency process.
According to multiple sources, the Jaguars and Meyer will be reuniting with a familiar player in veteran running back Carlos Hyde.
While Hyde’s first stint with the Jags was short-lived and didn’t go as planned, the team was a mess at that time in 2018. However, with a new staff in place, Hyde seemingly felt fine about a return.
Hyde’s signing makes a lot of sense when connecting the dots between him and the front office. Meyer coached him at Ohio State and general manager Trent Baalke drafted him in San Francisco.
He’ll enter his second stint with the Jags with 1,153 career carries for 4,726 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns
