Jadon Haselwood becomes latest Sooner to enter transfer portal

Following Spencer Rattler and Theo Wease, Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Jadon Haselwood has made it known he’s entering the transfer portal.

While the time ticks on as Oklahoma continues to look for their next head coach, the dominoes in the locker room continue to fall. The Sooners saw quarterback Spencer Rattler and wide receiver Theo Wease enter the transfer portal earlier Tuesday afternoon.

There is now a third name in the transfer portal: Jadon Haselwood.  The redshirt sophomore receiver out of Atlanta posted a message on his Instagram announcing his intent.

Haselwood came to Oklahoma with a mountain of hype out of high school. He was ranked the fourth overall prospect in the nation for the 2019 class. The Sooners fended off the Georgia Bulldogs for his services largely in part due to Haselwood’s status as the son of a former Oklahoma graduate.

Injuries derailed what was a solid start as a true freshman as Haselwood missed much of 2020 due to a knee injury. This season he played injury-free and led the team with six touchdown catches. He also has 39 catches for 399 yards which also leads the team.

During his time at Oklahoma, Haselwood had 63 receptions for 736 yards and seven touchdowns. For a player that battled injuries, it looked as if Haselwood was slowly starting to breakthrough. He’ll be on the move, looking for a new program. Haselwood is sure to find some suitors who think they can tap into the potential he showed coming out of high school now that he is fully healthy.
