The Philadelphia Eagles rode some stellar play by Carson Wentz down the stretch of the regular season to a NFC East title and a home playoff game.
And now they might have to go on without him for the rest of Sunday’s wild-card game against the Seattle Seahawks thanks to a head injury from what sure looked like a cheap shot by Jadeveon Clowney.
Wentz was diving to the ground after scrambling for some yards when Clowney came diving in head-first and hit Wentz directly in the back of the helmet. The QB’s head bounced off the ground and he left the game. Then he went back to the locker room for more tests.
Here’s the hit in question:

Not sure how that wasn’t flagged.
Lots of fans agreed:
NFL: Don’t lead with the Helmet, it could cause a concussion.

Wentz being evaluated for a head injury. “His return is questionable.” Clowney cheap shot went unpenalized.

I'm still trying to figure out how that Clowney helmet-to-helmet hit on Wentz as he was going to the ground didn't draw a flag. Clowney would've been ejected in college football. He got away with cheap-shotting Wentz out of the game.

Still trying to grasp the fact that Clowney literally launched his head at Carson Wentz and nothing was flagged.
Like what ??

This seems a lot like helmet to helmet contact from Clowney on Wentz. The refs are back at it again smh… pic.twitter.com/07nQewTU3P
