Jacoby Brissett, Patriots cut down Jets on late score

The Patriots improved to 2-6 and the Jets fell to the same record

Jacoby Brissett came off the bench when Drake Maye suffered a head injury on Sunday. The backup New England Patriots quarterback came on and led the team to the second victory of its season.

Rhamondre Stevenson completed a 70-yard drive with 25 seconds left on a short touchdown run and the Patriots defeated the New York Jets, 25-22, in a battle of the bottom teams in the AFC East.

The Patriots had 247 yards of total offense in the game and 70 came on the final drive.

The Jets dropped to 2-6 and the Aaron Rodgers era is not looking different than any other tenure of previous quarterbacks other than Joe Namath.

Stevenson had 48 rushing yards on 20 carries, but two of the runs went for touchdowns.
