Tennessee redshirt senior tight end Jacob Warren has been named to the Wuerffel Trophy preseason watch list.

Warren is one of 115 student-athletes on the list.

The award is named in honor of Danny Wuerffel. Wuerffel played quarterback at Florida and won the Heisman Trophy in 1996.

The award is presented each February in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The Wuerffel Trophy honors top college football players who serve others, celebrate their positive impact on society and inspire greater service in the world.

The Wuerffel Trophy was established in 2005 and is presented annually to an FBS player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership achievement on and off the field. It is the first major award honoring the character of service to others.

Warren earned an undergraduate kinesiology degree in May.

He is a four-time member of the SEC honor roll and is pursuing a Master of Science in agricultural leadership, education and communication.

Warren is on the Vols’ leadership council.
