With the president of the United States, Donald Trump, declaring a state of emergency Friday due to the coronavirus outbreak, many of the nation’s cities are suspending their major events. That was the case for Jacksonville as mayor Lenny Curry suspended any events taking place in the cities major venues, including those at TIAA Bank Field.

As of Friday at 1AM ET, all but four states had reported cases of the coronavirus, those being Alabama, Idaho, Montana, and West Virginia. The city of Jacksonville is one of many cities who’ve at least reported one case as the Florida Department of Health revealed that an 83-year old man within the county limits had tested positive for the coronavirus.

“The actions I have taken, and those I will be taking moving forward will be those that are thought most effective by local experts for preventing or slowing the spread COVID-19,” Curry said Friday. “Doing so is essential to ensuring our health care system is not overwhelmed and that the fewest number of people in Duval County are at risk.”

Other city venue events that will be closed includes those at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, Times-Union Performing Arts Center and Prime Osborn Convention Center. However, one venue that will be open to limited people will be Shad Khan’s amphitheater, Daily’s Place, which announced that they will be having an All Elite Wrestling event that was supposed to take place in New York.
