Jacksonville Jaguars lose 14th straight to win No. 1 pick in 2021 NFL Draft

The Jacksonville Jaguars are proud owners of the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft

The Jacksonville Jaguars proved you can win by losing, on Sunday and every week since their season opener. By getting routed by the Chicago Bears, 41-17, on Sunday, the Jaguars have clinched the first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence will almost certainly be trading one catsuit for another, going from a Tiger to a Jaguar.

What seemed unthinkable before Week 15 has become a reality. The New York Jets appeared to have a lock on the top pick but have defeated the Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns in consecutive weeks.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville has taken care of business by not taking care of business. The Jaguars won their opener against the Indianapolis Colts and have managed to lose every game since.

Should both the Jaguars and Jets wind up at 2-14 after Week 17, the Jaguars would be in possession of the coveted top selection due to NFL Draft rules regarding strength of schedule.

Of course, there is the unlikely possibility the Jaguars would go in another direction with the pick. Or, Lawrence would balk at playing for the futile Jaguars and decide to return to Clemson for his senior season or try and force a trade.
