The Cleveland Browns have themselves a new right tackle. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter and player agent Drew Rosenhaus, the Browns have agreed to terms with free agent tackle Jack Conklin from the Tennessee Titans.
The deal, which cannot be finalized until Wednesday, is for three years and $42 million. A full $30 million is guaranteed for the 25-year-old, who spent his first four seasons in Nashville.
Conklin burst onto the NFL in 2016, earning All-Pro honors as a rookie first-rounder from Michigan State. His play fell off over the next two years but rebounded nicely in 2019, where he helped pave the way for NFL rushing champ Derrick Henry. He was widely considered the top free agent tackle on the open market in 2020.
Jack Conklin agreed to a 3-year deal with the Browns for $42M with $30M fully guarantee, per @RosenhausSports. He earns $20mil in the first year. Wanted to keep it short due to the projected increases in the salary cap. Conklin will only be 28 when this deal expires.
