The Iowa Hawkeyes truly have a special one leading their defense in senior linebacker Jack Campbell. The Hawkeyes leading tackler and heartbeat of the defense is up for yet another award this season.
Campbell has been named a finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award. The award is given out annually to college football athletes that that not only show their stellar on-field ability but also bring character and discipline with them as well.

This is the third award that Campbell has been named a finalist for in the last 24 hours. Just yesterday he was named to the list of finalists for the Bednarik and Butkus Awards.
“I’m just super, super grateful and blessed to have great people around me. A family that supports me, coaching staff that supports me, a position coach who pushes me day in and day out and my fellow linebackers and fellow teammates that push me day in and day out to just become a better player and a man,” Campbell said when describing how it felt to find himself among the lists of finalists for awards.
His next appearance comes this Saturday at 11am CT when Iowa travels to West Lafayette to take on the Purdue Boilermakers in a game that suddenly carries some serious weight in the Big Ten West race. Purdue is chasing the Illinois Fighting Illini while the Hawkeyes are looking to right the ship against their past troubles against Purdue and take one step closer to a bowl bid.
