Jabari Walker gaining Pac-12 Player of the Year talk

Jabari Walker is peaking at the right time

Last season, Evan Mobley was clearly the best player in the Pac-12. The USC Trojans star went No. 3 overall in the NBA Draft and is now one of the likely candidates to win Rookie of the Year.

This year, however, the Pac-12 is much different. With the regular season winding down quickly, who should be the player of the year?

Jon Wilner of The Mercury News gave us some insight on who he would vote for. Want to hear some good news?

Colorado Buffaloes star Jabari Walker is on the list at No. 3, and it is well-deserved for Walker, especially with the way he has played lately.

Walker has been on fire for the Buffs, and what makes it even better is that they are in the conversation for an at-large spot, at least according to the latest USA TODAY Sports Bracketology.

Arizona’s Bennedict Mathurin and Washington’s Terrell Brown Jr. are worthy of the top spots,  but Walker is certainly making a case for himself.

Walker leads the Buffs with 14.5 points per game, and he had back-to-back 20-plus performances before dropping 19 in a victory over Cal. More than that, Walker even earned some NBA first round consideration lately, so the media is certainly watching Walker closely.

That is some high praise for Walker all-around, and he has certainly played like one of the best players in the entire Pac-12.
