After the Los Angeles Lakers took Game 1 of their first-round playoff series against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, they caught a break when Ja Morant didn’t suit up for Game 2. He was unable to play due to a hand injury he sustained late in Game 1 that reportedly caused a soft tissue bruise.
However, they were unable to take advantage: The short-handed Grizzlies won Game 2, 103-93.
Both teams will face off at Crypto.com Arena in a crucial Game 3 on Saturday, and Memphis has gotten some good news, as Morant will return to game action despite a soft tissue bruise in his right hand.

The Lakers will need to pressure Morant’s ball-handling, as he may have some trouble catching or gripping the ball in his right hand. They were able to force him to commit six turnovers on Sunday, and containing him will be a big key in this contest.
