Based on his comments on Thursday morning, it is safe to say that Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant wasn’t the one that reported a noise complaint on Miami Heat guard Jimmy Butler last week.
The NBA set up a hotline that individuals inside of the bubble at the Walt Disney World Resort can call to report anonymous complaints on those that may be breaking the rules and guidelines set forth by the league. The tip line has apparently received several calls since teams arrived last week.
According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, security was called to Butler’s hotel room after it was reported a loud thumping was heard. Turns out, Butler was in full practice gear bouncing a basketball in his room since the Heat were in quarantine.
But it wasn’t Morant that snitched, as he said after practice.
I don’t do none of that tellin’ so I don’t know the hotline number, none of that. Guys go about certain stuff the way they want to but for me, I ain’t see nothing, hear nothing and I ain’t saying nothing.
The main priority with the anonymous tip line is to report those that may be in violation of the health and safety rules. The NBA has gone through great lengths to keep the individuals inside of the bubble safe and its top priority to preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
Just don’t count on Morant to report those violations…
