After hours of speculation on if Steve Sarkisian turned down the job offer at Texas, we have our answer. The Texas Longhorns announced that the current offensive coordinator at Alabama is indeed the successor to Tom Herman.
When looking at the history of Sark as a head coach, it might need be inspiring but he did spend the better part of the last four years learning from Nick Saban. He commanded one of the most explosive offenses, all while learning how to be a head coach from one of the best ever to do it. Saban’s assistants aren’t always the most successful but let’s hold off judgment until we actually see what he can do on the field.

His track record with offenses and the development of quarterbacks speaks for itself. Given that the Longhorns haven’t had a top tier quarterback since Vince Young and Colt McCoy should come to an end in the immediate future. There should be a lot of hope and enthusiasm on the offensive side of the ball.
For now the expectation is that Sark will remain with Alabama through the National Championship before beginning his work on the Forty Acres.

The next part of the transition will be assembling a staff and seeing who will be retained from the previous staff under Herman.
