It’s hard to believe now, but Mitchell wasn’t the most coveted blue-chipper coming out of Brewster Academy. According to ESPN, he was a four-star recruit and ranked 43rd in the nation in the 2015 recruiting class. The Cardinals were the only true “power” to offer Mitchell a scholarship. Florida, Boston College, Creighton, Cincinnati and Iowa came calling, but Mitchell wanted to display himself on a big-time stage. “(Brown) might say differently, but I wasn’t a thought,” Mitchell said. “I think, for me, I was just trying to play and get to a school.”
