It’s fitting Mike Evans’ run at history in 2020 involves Tom Brady

Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans will looking for a record-breaking season in 2020.

The NFL is set to release a full 17-week schedule on Thursday, despite concerns the coronavirus pandemic could affect the season starting on time.

While the NFL has explored contingency plans, such as starting the season in mid-October, a shortened season could impact Mike Evans’ run at history in 2020. Last season, Evans became just the second wide receiver in NFL history, other than Hall of Famer Randy Moss, to start his career with six-straight 1,000-yard seasons.

Evans will have a shot to take the record for himself if he can get another 1,000-yard season under his belt. And, it seems only fitting that his quarterback this season will be Tom Brady, a former teammate of Moss.

Moss accomplished his mark with the Minnesota Vikings, not the Patriots, obviously. But, he did set an NFL-record with 23 touchdown receptions in 2007, his first year playing with Brady. That season, the Pats went a perfect 16-0 in the regular season, but fell to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII.

Evans might very well be the best wide receiver Brady has played with since Moss, so you can be sure the Super Bowl-winning quarterback will be looking Evans’ way early and often. If the receiver can stay healthy, another 1,000-yard season is well within reach, along with the record.
