There was one pass from the first half of Sunday’s Super Bowl 54 that 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo would definitely want back.
He just didn’t open his eyes to see it.
With San Francisco at its own 41-yard line early in the second quarter, Garoppolo avoided a pass rush to get off a throw across his body in the direction of Deebo Samuel. Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland hauled in the easy interception.
The throw in itself was terrible and ill-advised.
Jimmy Garoppolo's interception was just the 2nd by a 49er in the Super Bowl.
Colin Kaepernick threw an INT in Super Bowl XLVII.
Joe Montana and Steve Young threw 0 in 5 combined starts.

But look at Garoppolo’s eyes as he was throwing the ball. They didn’t appear to be open.
Just close your eyes and hope for the best, Jimmy pic.twitter.com/F7CM4fdJeV

Yeah, those eyes are closed.
Just a guess, but it’s probably a good idea to see where you’re throwing as an NFL quarterback — unless you’re Patrick Mahomes, of course.
