PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers made the tough decision to waive Isaiah Joe after the preseason in October.
The Sixers drafted Joe out of Arkansas in the second round of the 2020 NBA draft, and he played 96 games for Philadelphia before he was waived before the 2022-23 season began.
Joe quickly landed with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and he is averaging career highs across the board from points to rebounds to assists to minutes and shooting percentages. He has received an opportunity on a young team, and he is taking advantage of it.
After the Thunder knocked off the Sixers on Thursday in his return to Philadelphia, Joe opened up about being waived and his relationship with coach Doc Rivers.
