The USC Trojans men’s basketball team was all abuzz about the addition of Bronny James, the Sierra Canyon star and son of NBA superstar LeBron James. However, five-star recruit Isaiah Collier is one of the top players in the class and has gained a ton of hype this offseason.
With the season approaching and the Trojans’ roster looking dangerous despite losing players to the next level and Reese Dixon-Waters going to San Diego State, Collier opened up on his decision to come to USC with some interesting comments, per Shotgun Spratling of 247Sports. Collier mentions that USC can be like Kentucky and Duke.
The Trojans lost in the first round the past two years in the NCAA Tournament, but this year’s team feels different. Boogie Ellis is back as well, and there’s a reason the Trojans are in the preseason top-25 poll despite the cloudy health status of Bronny James.
The Trojans, by adding a player with the hype and talent of Collier, have attained a massive get, and let’s see if Collier is right about USC transforming itself into something bigger on the court.
#USC PG Isaiah Collier on coming to #USC: I feel like it was the best fit for me with the pieces that are around me and the players that also committed with me.
"We can be the team like everybody else is, the Kentuckys and the Dukes. I feel like USC can be that."
