The Carolina Panthers are likely to have their first-round pick back on the field this afternoon.
As stated by head coach Dave Canales on Friday, wideout Xavier Legette is expected to suit up for Sunday’s NFC South showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rookie receiver was listed as questionable on the final injury report with a hip issue.
Legette missed the Week 16 overtime win over the Arizona Cardinals, his first absence of the 2024 campaign. Through the 14 games before last Sunday, Legette amassed 41 catches for 439 yards and four receiving touchdowns.
Along with the hip injury, Legette is also dealing with a bothersome wrist. The 23-year-old told reporters back on Dec. 12 that he’s likely to undergo offseason surgery to repair torn ligaments in the wrist.
His return would come at a pretty good time for the Carolina offense, which will be without leading rusher Chuba Hubbard. Hubbard was placed on injured reserve on Saturday due to a calf strain.
