Is Riley Moss playing today? Injury updates for Broncos CB

Broncos cornerback Riley Moss (knee) won’t play against the Colts today.

Denver Broncos second-year cornerback Riley Moss went down with a knee injury against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12 and he did not play against the Cleveland Browns in Week 13. Coming out of the bye week, here are the latest on his MCL status going into Week 15.

Riley Moss injury update

Moss has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, so he won’t suit up today. He is the only player on Denver’s injury report who did not practice in any capacity last week.

How long will Riley Moss be out?

After the Raiders game, Broncos coach Sean Payton said the injury “wasn’t really serious,” but the cornerback has now missed two games. Perhaps the coach meant it wasn’t as serious as it could have been. After hosting the Colts on Sunday, Denver will have a short turnaround before facing the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football in Week 16. If that’s too soon for Moss to return, the extra rest after TNF might help him get back on the field in time for a Week 17 road game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Broncos cornerback depth chart

Levi Wallace started in the place of Moss against the Browns and he had, in his own words, the worst game of his life. Wallace was benched in favor of rookie Kris Abrams-Drain late in the game against Cleveland, but it remains to be seen who will play as the team’s No. 2 cornerback across from Pat Surtain this week. Ja’Quan McMillian continues to play in the slot. The Broncos also have Damarri Mathis and Tremon Smith providing additional depth at cornerback.
