Update: Jaylen Waddle is officially inactive vs. the Browns
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is questionable for Week 17 due to a knee injury he suffered in a Week 15 loss to the Houston Texans. The injury kept Waddle, who previously hadn’t missed a game in 2024, out of action last week against the San Francisco 49ers.
Jaylen Waddle injury update
Waddle sat out the Dolphins’ Wednesday practice before returning for a pair of limited participation practices Thursday and Friday. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Waddle’s availability Sunday is no sure thing, but he’s feeling good about the receiver’s chances.
“I’m optimistic just because of the way he goes at it and I know he will play if he’s able to,” McDaniel said. “So as of right now, I would say there’d be some ‘questionability’ to it, but we’ll see how it progresses. He’s done a great job doing everything he can.”
Waddle also felt encouraged about the possibility of making his return in Week 17.
“I feel good,” Waddle said. “They kind of limited me a little bit, but for the most part got through everything. They wanted me to hold back some parts. There is always a chance, always a chance.”

The Dolphins’ other starting wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, is also questionable due to a wrist injury that he’s been dealing with since August. Behind that duo is rookie Malik Washington, veteran River Cracraft, return specialist Dee Eskridge, and Erik Ezukanma, who was signed from the team’s practice squad Saturday.
