The Miami Dolphins officially made the switch heading into their bye week, replacing veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick with rookie Tua Tagovailoa as the team’s starting quarterback.
Tagovailoa, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, is obviously the team’s franchise quarterback of the future. That said, Fitzpatrick had the Dolphins playing competitive football, and coming off a dominant win over the New York Jets.
The rookie quarterback is also returning from a scary injury that ended his college career prematurely, and though the team has been plenty patient with him, it’s hard not to wonder if the Dolphins are making this move at the right time.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and DeAngelo Hall broke down the situation:
Is it *Tua* soon to turn to @Tua? 🤣
