Is Florida basketball favored to beat Florida State? Here are Saturday night’s odds.

You might be very surprised what the bookmakers think of Florida’s chances in tomorrow’s MBK affair.

The hubbub on Saturday surrounded Florida’s football team, which looked helpless against the Samford Bulldogs’ offense in the first half of its shootout win in the Swamp. Across the street in the O’Connell Center, the men’s basketball team gets set to host its in-state rivals the Florida State Seminoles on Sunday afternoon.

The Gators enter the game with a win over the Elon Phoenixes to open the year while the Seminoles blew out the Penn Quakers to start their schedule — though only FSU finds itself in the top 25 rankings, sitting at No. 19 and No. 20 in the preseason Coaches and AP Polls, respectively. However, the bookmakers apparently think this one will be closer than the rankings suggest. In fact, it predicts a rather surprising outcome.

According to the Tipico Sportsbook, the spread is set at 1.5 points in favor of the Gators, the over-under comes in at 144.5, and the money lines for Florida and FSU are -112 and -108, respectively, as of 6 p.m. EST Saturday.
