New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye went down with a head injury in last week’s game against the New York Jets.
The injury happened during a slide attempt when he was hit on the back of the helmet by Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood. He was ultimately taken out of the game and placed in concussion protocol, limiting his availability in practice this week.
Drake Maye injury update
The Patriots announced on Saturday that Maye has cleared concussion protocol.
After going down with the initial injury, he threw a couple of nice passes before being taken out of the game. So it was never a situation where he was knocked unconscious or visibly shaken up.
How long will Drake Maye be out?
Maye is set to make his return for Sunday’s game against the Titans. It’s great news for the Patriots considering the rookie quarterback has sparked their sluggish offense since taking the reins as the starter.
