The New Orleans Saints are preparing for the Week 18 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, their final game of the 2024 NFL season.
Starting quarterback Derek Carr has been out for the past few weeks, leaving Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener to take over for the final stretch. There was at least some hope that he would be able to return before the end of the year, though.
Derek Carr injury update
Carr was, however, ruled out once again which will put an end to his campaign. He has been dealing with an left hand injury since the end of the Week 13 match against the New York Giants.
How long will Derek Carr be out?
Carr still seems to be at least close to getting over his injury, so fans should expect him to take the starting snaps next year barring any unforeseen moves this off season.
Saints QB depth chart
