The Los Angeles Rams are once again taking a cautious approach to Week 18, just as they did last season. Rather than playing all of their starters and treating it as a normal game, they’re going to rest many key players in an attempt to keep them healthy and fresh for the start of the playoffs.
Among them is Cooper Kupp, who has been banged up throughout his career. Though he’s not injured at the moment, Sean McVay is taking the opportunity to rest Kupp and make sure he’s at his best for next week’s wild-card game.
Kupp has missed four games this season but in the 12 games he’s played, he has 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns.
Cooper Kupp update
McVay said Kupp is one of the players the Rams will rest against the Seahawks this weekend. He’s officially listed as doubtful to play but that’s just semantics; he’ll most likely be inactive and will not play against Seattle.
Rams WR depth chart
In addition to Kupp, Puka Nacua is also resting this week. That means Tutu Atwell, Tyler Johnson and Jordan Whittington will probably be the top receivers. It remains to be seen if or how much Demarcus Robinson will play.
Xavier Smith is also a receiver who could get more playing time.
