The Chicago Bears have a lot of young, exciting talent on their roster, including second-year cornerback Thomas Graham Jr., who could see an expanded role in 2022.
Graham was a sixth-round selection in the 2021 NFL draft, and he was immediately dubbed by some as a potential steal for Chicago. While Graham spent most of the season on the practice squad, he made the most of his opportunity when the Bears’ entire starting secondary was sidelined with COVID-19.
Graham made his first NFL start in Week 14 against the Vikings in prime time, where he made an immediate and lasting impression. Graham had seven tackles and three pass breakups in his debut, and he was immediately signed to the active roster the next day.

Now, Graham has a chance to compete for a starting job heading into the 2022 season. With cornerback an area of need for Chicago, Graham can make a push for a starting job opposite Jaylon Johnson.
When looking at Graham’s development from practice squad player to the second-best cornerback on the roster, it’s hard not to be excited about his potential in this defense.
